The project refers to the reconstruction of an Open Protection Centre for the Elderly, in Aspropyrgos. The proposal aims to resolving existing functional problems, creating a pleasant interior environment for the elderly, that prevents their institutionalization and encourages them to be socially active.
The proposal indicates a reinforced concrete building, which consists of one basement, three floors and one last floor with reduced plan view. The structural system is simple including a few shear walls and one row of planted columns for the last floor.
